general synoptic situation:

A weakening low 982 near Spitsbergen is moving towards Moscow. An

extensive high 1045 centred over southern Norway is forming 

another centre of 1041 over the northern part of the North Sea, 

which is also weakening. A ridge extending to southern Russia is 

moving towards Southeast Europe while weakening. An extensive and

complex low 1002 over the western part of the Mediterranean and 

the Iberian Peninsula is weakening.

Southwestern North Sea:

wind: northeast to east 6 to 7.
