general synoptic situation:

A low 989 close north of the Faeroes fills somewhat while 

moving to southern Norway. A secondary low 995 over the 

coast of Mid-Norway deepens while heading to southern 

Finland. A third low 999 south of Iceland approaches the 

Faeroes. Associated, eastward shifting frontal troughs of 

all those systems are passing North- and Baltic Sea. An 

Azores high-pressure ridge stretches via Bay of Biscay to 

western Alps. It weakens somewhat while extending east.
