general synoptic situation:	

A high 1042 over southern Norway hardly changes. A ridge 

extending to Belarus is shifting southwards and spreading to 

Romania. Another high 1040 over the northern part of the North 

Sea is moving towards the Shetlands. A low 1000 just west of 

Corsica is moving westwards while weakening. A secondary low 1012

will form in the southern Bay of Biscay on Thursday evening.
