general synoptic situation

<br> Initially on Saturday over the Gulf of Lion and the 

Ligurian Sea near gale force winds from northeast to east. 

On Sunday over the Adriatic Sea locally near gale force 

winds from northerly directions. On Saturday, Sunday, and 

Monday over the Aegean Sea, the sea area Taurus, and over 

the adjacent waters locally near gale force or gale force 

winds with storm force gusts, isolated gusts of 11 Bft. On 

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday over some parts of the 

western, central, and eastern Mediterranean Sea 

thunderstorms, isolated severe thunderstorms with storm 

force squalls and heavy rain. Over the northernmost 

portions of the Mediterranean Sea, from Southeast France 

across the waters surrounding the Apennine peninsula 

towards the Aegean Sea more or less free of thunderstorms.
